Jétsunma Khandro Ten’dzin Drölkar was one of the last great yoginis to have trained in Tibet. Shas been a personal friend of Ngak’chang Rinpoche since 1971 —— and of Khandro Déchen since 1982. She passed away on 30 March 2024 in McLeod Ganj, Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh — Himalayas of Northern India.

“We all have limited life span — although our physical manifestations in the world are serial. We shall miss Jétsunma Khandro Ten’dzin Drölkar greatly — as will our students; who had the great good fortune to have met her. They will each have their own experiences to relate about her.
We have known her for over forty years— and in that time we have met on many occasions in the Himalayas of India and Nepal.
She was a disciple of Kyabjé Düd’jom Rinpoche Jig’drèl Yeshé Dorje and of his son Dung-sé Thrin-lé Norbu Rinpoche. She was also a disciple of Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche.
She was a profound practitioner of Düd‘jom gTér — and particularly of Tröma Nakmo.
She received Dzogchen Men-ngag-dé instructions from Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche and entered into several long muntsam (dark retreats).
She spent the latter part of her life in pilgrimage retreat — wandering throughout the Himalayas in the Hidden Lands of Guru Rinpoche and Yeshé Tsogyel.
She would always detour to Bodhanath when she heard we were to arrive there — and our meetings were always joyous. We were extremely happy that our students were there with us — as the chance to meet such an inspiring female siddha is rare. These meetings provided our students with a real sense of being part of a Nyingma vajra family — and this was especially the case when Jétsunma Khandro Ten’dzin Drölkar and Jomo Sam‘phel Déchen Rinpoche were together.”
