Ngak'chang Rinpoche and Thubten Dadak
Ngak’chang Rinpoche (sNgags ‘chang chos dByings rGya mTsho / སྔགས་འཆང་ཆོས་དབྱིངས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་) in December 1975 at the conclusion of one of a series of three-month solitary retreats. These retreats were above Triund on the high ridge above the Chamba Valley — on the border with Himachal Pradesh. In this photograph Ngak’chang Rinpoche is with his friend Thubten Dadak a Gélug Lama from the Gyütö Tantric College who brought him supplies whilst Ngak'chang Rinpoche was in retreat. Thubten Dadak came from a Nyingma family and was entirely familiar with Nyingma terminology.
