This is Ngak’chang Rinpoche’s mother: Renate Louisa Maria Frieda Schubert as a young lady in Hannover, Germany. Ngak’chang Rinpoche said

My mother was the epitome of kindness and generosity. Old school friends remember her with great affection.

She was a great support in terms of my travels to the Himalayas, not financially - but in every other way.

She was a dedicated Christian — but was entirely accepting of other religions.

She always asked me to wear my Ngakpa robes to the Christmas Eve Carol service at her church — and the vicar always thanked me for singing loudly.

It apparently encouraged his parishioners to raise their volume.”

Those of Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen’s students who met Ngak’chang Rinpoche’s mother all enjoyed meeting her. She is someone to remember on Mothers Day.
