Ling Gésar (གལིང་གེ་སར་)

The Manifestation of Guru Rinpoche —— Protector of all who look to him for support, defence, and sustenance.

Ling Gésar is central to the Thangtong Thugthig gTérma of Rang-rig Togden — the Sangyab of gTértön Jomo Pema ’ö-Zér. Rang-rig Togden was the father of Khyungchen Aro Lingma. The Thangtong Thugthig was received as Mind gTérma from Thangtong Gyalpo by gTértön Rang-rig Togden — and is one of the gTérmas which is nested in the Aro gTér, along with the gTérmas of Jomo Pema ’ö-Zér, Akyong Düd’dül Dorje, and Jomo Chhi‘mèd Pema.

༄Your powerful form is the colour of white conch and bears all the signs of a dPa’wo.
༄Your gilded armour blazes — its crystal ornaments glitter.
༄Your bejewelled white silk cloak swirls,
Fastened with a red silk cord at your throat,
༄You wear the yeshé mélong which reflects the entire phenomenal universe
And the dorje of indestructible awareness.
༄Your youthful face has the serenity of empathetic appreciation.
༄Your lordly expression is indefatigable.
You golden helmet is adorned at its centre with moon sapphire — and is surmounted with streaming silver pennants.
༄Your right hand raises the treasury of wisdom, bound in red and bearing a golden khyung.
༄Your left hand bears a crystal bowl of jewels — in mounds around a crystal vase which contains the düdtsi of immortality
༄Each finger wears gZi གཟི་ emblazoned ring.
༄The crook of your left arm holds ian iron lance — from which streams a swirling rainbow banner of the sky.

༄With the hiss of flying arrows,
༄With the shrieking of vultures,
༄With the roaring of tigers,
༄With the crashing of thunder,
༄With the shout of a great voice
༄You break through the smoke laden mirage of deception and terror.
