Herd behaviour – one has to root it out of oneself!
Excerpt From ‘Warp and Weft of Wonderment’ Volume I by Ngakma Mé-tsal. The hagiographies of the 84 Mahasiddhas as recounted to Ngakma Mé-tsal by Ngak’chang Rinpoche from the gTérma of Jomo Pema ’ö-Zér.
“Ah yes, herd behaviour – one has to root it out of oneself!”
Rinpoche gave a thespian yell of glee. The cow lifted her head and looked right at us.
“Practitioners need to show they have integrity. They need to show that they’re not herd animals. This cow is less of a herd animal than some people we’ve met. See – she’s come to visit us, unlike the other unexceptional bovines.”
“Unfortunately, most people border on the bovine” added Khandro Déchen. “Fashion is herd behaviour and herd behaviour is a major problem in the world.”
