Dispelling obstacles

The Thugdrüp Barchèd Künsèl (thugs sgrub bar chad kun sel / ཐུགས་སྒྲུབ་བར་ཆད་ཀུན་སེལ་) is a joint gTérma of the two gTértöns Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo and Chokgyür Lingpa, consisting of 10 volumes, in which the Barchèd Lamsel (bar chad lam sel / བར་ཆད་ལམ་སེལ་) is found. Thugdrüp means 'heart accomplishment,' barchèd künsel means 'obstacles all dispelled.'
According to Kyabjé Dilgo Khyentsé Rinpoche, “it is the unique gTérma — the quintessence of a billion Lama heart drüpthabs.”
This cycle focuses on chö-ku Tsépa’mèd; Long-ku Ngènsong Dongtrug Chenrézigs; and Trülku Guru Rinpoche together with the 12 emanations of Guru Rinpoche.

Thugdrüp Barchèd Künsèl (thugs sgrub bar chad kun sel / ཐུགས་སྒྲུབ་བར་ཆད་ཀུན་སེལ་) is a practice composed by Guru Rinpoche during the time when he was in Tibet, in the Blazing Turquoise Lhakhang on the 2nd floor of Samyé, in response to a request from Trisong Détsen, his son Murub Tsépo Yeshé Rolpa-tsal, Khandro Yeshé Tsogyel, Nubchen Sang-gyé Yeshé, Lotsawa Gyalwa Chögyang, and the other disciples. They said that practitioners faced multifarious bar-chad, and enquired as to the best practice for dispelling bar-chad. Guru Rinpoche said that when practising the Dharma there will be outer bar-chad, inner bar-chad and secret bar-chad. “When it comes to dispelling bar-chad however” Guru Rinpoche said “there is no greater method than invoking the Lama. There is no greater method than this.”
Guru Rinpoche said “By invoking the Lama bar-chad is dispelled, and when dispelled, you will gain accomplishments.”
Guru Rinpoche, placed his right hand on the head of Yeshé Tsogyel, his left hand on the head of Trisong Détsen and he touched his forehead to the forehead of Prince Murub Yeshé Rolpa-tsal. Then he recited the Barchèd Lamsel, the self-sound of chö-nyid, which beginning:
༄།ༀ་ཨཱཿ ཧཱུྃ་བཛྲ་གུ་རུ་པདྨ་སི་དྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ༔ Om A’a: Hung Bendzra Guru Pema Siddhi Hung:

When he had granted this previously unknown invocation, the disciples all thanked him, but then asked “Is there also a method of accomplishment related to this, complete with activity practices. Please could you teach it?
Then at that very moment, Guru Rinpoche transformed and assumed the form of Nangsrid Zilnön, ‘The Master Prevailing Over All Phenomena’ surrounded by other yidams and the twelve emanations of Guru Rinpoche.

Yeshe Tsogyal wrote everything down on a white scroll with her own blood in the secret Khandro script. Then before he left for the land of the rakshasas, Guru Rinpoche examined the terma site of Danyi Khala Rongo and made sure there would be no bar chad. It was finally concealed there 12 years after he departed from Tibet. Then centuries later Chökgyür Lingpa discovered this terma at the age of twenty-six or twenty-seven, and deciphered it together with Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo.
