The technique could become a tourniquet
Prospective apprentice I am very interested in meditation techniques. Could you give me an example of meditation technique in your tradition of Buddhism?
Khandro Déchen The breath. One does not concentrate or fixate, one simply identifies with the movement of the breath. In this way, you are not separate from the technique. There is no difference between you and the technique. After an indeterminate period of months or years the technique dissolves into itself. Unless the technique dissolves into itself, the technique could become a tourniquet. We therefore do not speak much of technique, we speak of ‘method’—and that is an extremely broad and subtle term.

I am the last person you should trust
