cheerfully and without resenting yourself
Apprentice . . . You are right. I am going through a lot of conflict. It was just that I could not see it at the time. Do you have any suggestions?
Khandro Déchen You need to sit. Silent sitting is essential. All you need to do is accept what you are feeling and stop fighting. You can also move toward the changes you wish to make. The two do not have to be in opposition to each other. It doesn’t matter if it takes longer than you would wish, as long as the changes occur at some point. You can relax with the situation – and take whatever happens as it comes. Decisions made on the basis of accepting yourself—albeit temporarily—‘as you are’, can be made more cheerfully and without resenting yourself. Decisions are always affected by the way in which they are made – so you need to sit in the space of practice before you decide what steps you will take. You need to be at ease with how you are at the same time as moving on – and that requires space, the space of silent sitting.
