Lord of the Dance: The Autobiography of a Tibetan Lama, by Chagdud Tulku
Study group with Zér-mé Dri’mèd
US Online only
Lord of the Dance is the autobiography of the Lama Chag'dud Tulku. The title refers to Chag'dud Tulku's given name, Gargyi Wangkhyung, "Powerful Lord of the Dance.".
Chag'dud Tulku tells the story of his life with clarity and honesty. He shows himself as a recognizably human being who is also a powerful practitioner and a gifted visionary. The story begins in Tibet before the Chinese invasion and continues through his escape from Tibet and eventual resettlement in the United States. It gives a clear picture of what life in Tibet was like when the author was a child, and how a child tulku is raised and educated. The story includes a number of vivid characters, including Chag'dud Tulku's mother, the Lama and Delog Dawa Drolma
