Jomo Sam’phel Déchen Rinpoche

Jomo Sam’phel Déchen Rinpoche (jo mo sam ’phel bDe chen / ཇོ་མོ་སམ་འཕེལ་བདེ་ཆེན) was the Sangyum of Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche and a disciple of Kyabjé Düd’jom Rinpoche Jig’drèl Yeshé Dorje.

Jomo Sam‘phel Déchen Rinpoche is an incarnation of Yeshé Tsogyel and a profound master of rTsa-rLung and Dzogchen. She is sometimes described as a ‘hidden yogini’ — but her being ‘hidden’ has more to do with her not being ‘famous’ in the way that male Lamas become famous.

Although she is not famous — she does not lack for fame in those who recognise her immense qualities as a realised master.

She was highly respected by Dung-sé Thrin-lé Norbu Rinpoche, Kyabjé Düd’jom Rinpoche, and Kyabjé Düd’jom Rinpoche - Sang-gyé Pema Shépa.

She is the Sangyum of Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche who was himself acknowledged as one of the greatest rTsa-rLung masters of the 20th Century.

His teachings on rTsa-rLung have been incorporated into the Düd‘jom gTér.

Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche and Jomo Sam‘phel Déchen Rinpoche are the Tsa-wa’i Lamas of Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen and the inspiration for the establishment of sGra bLa lJongs.

Kyabje Dung-sé Thrinlé Norbu Rinpoche, the eldest of Kyabjé Düd’jom Rinpoche, Jigdrél son Dorje (incarnation of Tulku Trimé Özer and Longchenpa) wrote this appreciation of Jomo Samphel Déchen Rinpoche on the request of Ngak'chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen.

༄The principal wisdom queen of the innumerable mandalas of wisdom dakinis and supreme consort of Guru Rinpoche, called Jomo Yeshé Tsogyel – I bow to you.

༄The one who has unshakeable faith in you, and is practising you, who is your follower and serving Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche from the activities of the three rejoicings, like a wish fulfilling jewel – consort of my guru Jomo Sam’phel – may you live long.

༄Whatever you wish for the benefit of the teachings of the Buddhas and for sentient beings, whatever you do, may it be accomplished.

༄And may all beings be sustained, in the phenomena of pure Dharma.
