Trømtsal Dorje
Ngakpa Trømtsal Dorje has been a practitioner in the Aro gTér tradition since 1998. He was ordained as a ngakpa in 2002.
In 2022 he started teaching the basic practices of the tradition in Finnish language at Drala Thang, the Aro gTér centre in Helsinki, Finland.
He enjoys Tantric practice and the symbolism of Tantra, the Five elements and Dzogchen view on essential Sutric teachings.
Ngakpa Trømtsal studied philosophy and literature in the University of Helsinki. He finds it valuable to work in the interface between western culture and the essential view of Vajrayana. He is writing a book on western philosophy and Buddhism from the point of view of Dzogchen.
Ngakpa Trømtsal works as a culture journalist at a big daily newspaper. He plays bass in a death metal band and has taken up blues guitar inspired by Ngak’chang Rinpoche’s appreciation of blues. He finds the interface between arts and vajrayana very inspiring.
He lives in Helsinki, Finland, with his wife and stepson.
Ngakpa Trømtsal has made two pilgrimages to Nepal, on which he met Künzang Dorje Rinpoche and Jomo Samp’hel Déchen Rinpoche, the Root Lamas of Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen.
He has received teaching and transmission from Chhimed Rig’dzin Rinpoche, Trulshik Rinpoche, Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche, Tulku Pema Wangyal Rinpoche, Patrul Rinpoche, Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche, Khamtrul Wangchuk Rig’dzin Rinpoche, Khenchen Lama Rinpoche and Mingyur Rinpoche.
