Talk with Zér-mé Dri’mèd

Teachings and Songs from a Tradition of Enlightened Women

The human style of the Aro teachings is essentially female – whether taught by women or men. Essential, non-elaborate practices emphasize wisdom and emptiness and direct experience of the Enlightened State.

The Aro teachings arose and were propagated in communities of non-monastic practitioners and in a non liturgical, yogic style. Four important Tibetan yoginis are of primary importance in the evolution of the Aro teachings: Yeshé Tsogyel, Machig Labdrön, Jomo Menmo, and Aro Lingma. Naljorpa Ögyen Dorje and Ngakma Zér-mé Dri’mèd will present and discuss practices of Yogic Song and visualization from the Aro Tradition, with traditional instruments.

Ngakma Zér-mé Dri’mèd and Naljorpa Ögyen Dorje are ordained Tantric practitioners in the non-monastic Aro Ter tradition, a lineage of the Nyingma School, one of the four main schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Together they have over 40 years experience of study, practice, and teaching Buddhism.
