Weaving the Elements

The five elements—earth, water, fire, air and space—are each associated with a liberated energy and an emotional confusion. Weaving ‘skies’ of coloured thread links our energy with the energy of the elements through the Tantric craft of sound and vision. The woven skies—empowered through mantra—magnetise personal ‘demons’—neuroses, fears and obsessions—and releases them within the skies of each element.

Teachings and practical instructions are presented on creating thread crosses (namkha) and amulets. Thread crosses may be ceremonially burned after completion to effectuate the intention of the weaving or kept for a year and then burned. Amulets are woven to contain a mantra, medicine or a prayer to benefit oneself or others. They can be worn or hung in a room.
