Retreat with Chhi’mèd Künzang

Dzogchen Sem-dé is the Series of the nature of Mind. Through the preparatory practice of the Four Naljors, practitioners cultivate the experience necessary to receive direct introduction to the natural state. The Four Naljors are an experiential grammar through which the nature of Mind can be experienced. The Four Ting-ngé’dzin are simultaneously the fruition of the preparatory practices and the actual practice of Dzogchen Sem-dé.

According to Rang-rig Togden’s gTérma of Ling Gésar (received in direct vision from Thang-tong Gyalpo), the Four Naljors and Four Ting-ngé’dzin can be understood in terms of physicality – as expressions of Tsal. Tsal is the aspect of physical energy which manifests externally. Through the practices of Tsal, one discovers the reality of Rolpa – the internal manifestation of physical energy. This process is introduced and experienced through the experiential grammar of Dzogchen Sem-dé.

On Saturday, Naljorpa Chhi’mèd Künzang will discuss the Four Naljors according to the Aro Sem-dé – as methods of silent sitting practice. This discussion provides an invaluable introduction to the language of Dzogchen – and serves as preparation for the tactile introduction according to Ling Gésar.

On Sunday, Naljorpa Chhi'mèd Künzang will discuss the practice of Tsal as a gateway to Rolpa, according to the Gésar Sem-dé. This essential introduction to the nature of physicality requires hands-on participation – and depends upon the previous day’s explanations.
