Seminar with Ngak’chang Rinpoche & Zér-mé Dri’mèd

What makes simple kindness so difficult? What does lust for chocolate or for tooled leather belts or for mountain sunsets have to do with compassion? How can a naive approach to "benefiting others" become a way of solidifying self and other - and the boundary between them - in one's mind?

Ngak-chang Rinpoche will speak about passion as the necessary basis for compassion, appreciation as the synapse that makes a connection with other beings possible, and vivid individuality as communication that goes beyond possessiveness and self. He will discuss compassion as empathetic appreciation in relation to emptiness and form from the perspective of Dzogchen and the different yanas, or vehicles, of Buddhadharma.

The weekend will consist of talks by Rinpoche and student teachers, questions and answers, and periods of meditation practice and yogic song.

Saturday, March 1, 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 2, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
