The Owl Precepts
Teaching with Ngak’chang Rinpoche
US In-person only
According to the Heart Essence Sutra of the Owl-headed Dakini, authentic tantrikas live within the dimension of the Owl Precepts. The Owl Precepts—a Dzogchen view of the Five Buddhist Precepts—originate in the gTérmas of Khyungchen Aro Lingma (1886-1923). They contain the profound inner meaning of the Five Precepts of the Sutras, and provide an extraordinary base for approaching Dzogchen. The method of the Owl Precepts is a guide to undermining the complex contrivances of dualistic view and an inspiration to enter into the felt meaning of the view. They are an invaluable teaching for evolving on the spiritual path.
Rinpoche will provide commentary on each precept as it relates to the context to one’s everyday life. Known for his humorous and articulate style of presenting teachings, Rinpoche encourages questions that make the material pertinent to the experience of the participants.
