Weekend event with Ngak’chang Rinpoche

Stories of the 84 Mahasiddhas, early Tantric practitioners who practiced and discovered complete liberation through outrageously unconventional—or outrageously conventional—means. The lives of the Mahasiddhas emphasize that spiritual realization is found within ordinary life, not in a special realm outside it. Teachings will be based on the gtérma of Jomo Pema ö-Zer, presenting the stories of the 84 Mahasiddhas from the unique perspective of Dzogchen.

"Usually what was interesting in the drüpthab of many of the Mahasiddhas was that what they practised was linked very much to who they were. There was one who was a cowboy, one who was a thief, one was called ‘the lazy man’, one was a rock star of his time. There was a restaurateur, a wine salesman, one who crushed sesame seed – an oil manufacturer, a king, a prostitute, an arrow-maker. There were all kinds of different people."

—Ngak’chang Rinpoche

The weekend will consist of talks by Rinpoche and teachers from the local Aro sangha, questions and answers, group yogic song practice, and silent sitting meditation. No prerequisites.
