Study group with Mé-tsal Wangmo & Ja'gyür Dorje

These sessions are open to all of those who are working towards gö kar chang lo ordination. We shall look at each of the vows in turn, starting with some introductory sessions, we expect it to take 18 months.

The session will be from 4pm to 6pm.

“There is no special privilege that comes with ordination. Ordination is a practice. It is a higher level of commitment — and an obligation. It is a responsibility. Those who take ordination open themselves to the demands of being 24-hour-a-day practitioners. They open themselves to always doing more than they thought possible — and going further than they thought they could possibly proceed. Ordination is a way of turning up the volume — and the heat. People who take on Vajrayana commitments have totally given over their lives to the service of the tradition. For them there is no turning back, no compromise, no ambiguity, no alternative, and no ‘get-out clause’. Their time is no longer their own, their appearance is no longer their own, their activities and speech are no longer their own—they have become, to varying degrees, manifestations of the tradition. It is a difficult practice to undertake — and something that deserves our respect. It is something that should inspire us.

To make any life-long commitment is an extraordinary decision to take — but one that is extraordinarily powerful.” Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen
