The Bottom Line - a teaching on Buddhist Refuge
A day of teaching and practice
Teaching with Mé-tsal Wangmo
UK In-person only
What can we really rely on in life? These teachings will look at the meaning and practice of Refuge within Buddhism and in particular from the Dzogchen perspective of the Aro Tradition. Taking Refuge in Buddhism is not to do with withdrawing or sheltering oneself from life, but coming to an understanding that there is no state, person or object that can give us safety from the neuroses of our own minds. The only way we can be liberated from conditioned perception and response, and the confusion that arises from our attempts to separate emptiness and form, is to aspire to the enlightened state and the spontaneous realisation of non-duality. This confidence and refuge become available to us only through practice. There will be sessions of silent sitting throughout the day, and the opportunity to discuss meditation practice.
This will be a one day event, and will include lunch and dinner.
