Roaring Silence
The Four Foundation Practices of Dzogchen Sem-dé
Retreat with Ngak’chang Rinpoche
US In-person only
The Four Naljors of Dzogchen Sem-dé are “the four methods of remaining in the natural state.” They represent an approach to silent sitting meditation practice from the perspective of the Dzogchen tradition. This perspective is both practical and vast. Dzogchen means discovering the unfabricated enlightened nature of mind, from which we have never been separated. Ngak’chang Rinpoche will give teachings on the Four Naljors based on his recent book, Roaring Silence: Discovering the Mind of Dzogchen (Shambhala Publications, 2002). The weekend will consist of talks by Rinpoche and student teachers, questions and answers, and periods of meditation practice and yogic song. On Friday evening, Rinpoche will give a dBang, or Tantric empowerment. In the Dzogchen view, a dBang is an orchestrated occasion providing a series of possible glimpses of the enlightened state.
