Class with Shé-zér Khandro

aro-ling-shrine

Buddhism teaches us that human beings – all human beings – have a natural dignity that can be realised by opening up to ourselves as we actually are. Once we understand ourselves directly through meditation practice, this innate sense of the nobility of our existence enables us to manifest as true heroes and heroines, without need of effort or contrivance.

This six week course will introduce the sitting, standing and walking meditation practices of the Ling Gésar tradition. These meditations will help to uncover our Natural Heroism – and through that help us to embrace life wholeheartedly and experience the world fully in all its rich variety.

Meditation makes us transparent and enables us to drop the pre-programmed habits, views and responses that serve only to complicate our existence.

Through becoming transparent to ourselves, we find that the way we communicate with others goes beyond mere words. Simply by Being, we communicate. Everything we think and feel communicates out as a subtle radiance, without need of words at all. The practices of tactile responsiveness (Thugjé reg-ja in Tibetan) are an aspect of Natural Heroism and this course will also explore this method of finding the innate communication in everything – where wisdom and action are totally interweaved as an enlightened and communicative play. Once you discover your natural ability to tune into this subtle radiant communication, it is possible to experience the innate vitality of all phenomena.

With this discovery enthusiasm – which is called rLung rTa (Windhorse) – will automatically raise and communicate itself as active compassion; our dynamic drive (lha) will emerge, and our life force, our very spirit of being (srog) will be invigorated.
