‘Since the dyes and colours are connected with feelings of love, kindness, and energy towards beings – make the colours of clothing bright. Since the adornments are linked with the retinue and students – dress beautifully. Since the way one wears clothing is connected with the accomplishment of all actions, abandon improper behaviour. Improper behaviour is when one wears clothing awry; lopsided, inside out, upside down, letting the front droop or treading on what hangs too low at the back. In other words, don all raiment with dignity.’ From ‘Oceanic Wealth of the Nyingma Vajrayana Rig’dzins’ ― ‘Ornamenting Flowers of a Ngak’chang: An Explanation of Accoutrements, Garments, Jewellery, and Music’.
