Meditation group with Mé-tsal Wangmo, Namgyal Dorje & Shé-zér Khandro

The Aro Bristol Meditation Group runs a series of classes during the year called 'Introduction to Meditation'. When classes aren't running, we meet weekly as a group to engage in meditation practice and yogic song.

Each meeting includes periods of meditation practice, and time for questions, answers, and discussion about practice. A brief teaching will be given by one of the meditation instructors. We also practice songs from the Aro Tradition accompanied by traditional instruments such as the chod drum and bell. Most of the songs can be easily memorised, and song books are available for anyone who needs one.

The group is open to anyone and is a supportive environment for beginners; meditators with many years of experience also attend regularly. We have a range of books available to help the understanding of beginners and intermediate practitioners, including titles by Lamas from the Aro Tradition, as well as teachers such as Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Thinley Norbu Rinpoche and Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche.

Our tradition employs yogic song from the Aro lineage, as well as the Dud'jom, Khordong and Mindroling lineages of Tibetan Buddhism. You can listen to some of the songs on the meditation site.
