Exhibition

aro-ling-shrine

This evening Aro Ling plays host to an evening of Korean Buddhist art.

The evening will include short documentary films about four remarkable pieces of Korean Buddhist art, including the Sokkuram Grotto, pictured here. The films cover items of devotional metalwork, sculpture, painting and wood-carving.

As well as being interesting from an artistic perspective, the works are instructive from a spiritual perspective, as they were often created in a meditative state.

Traditional Korean refreshments will be served at the end of the talks.

These films have been screened for the Buddhist Society in Eccleston Square London, at monasteries in Korea and at schools and universites in the UK and Europe.

The films are screened by KSCPP - a non-profit organisation, and there is no charge for the presentations.
