Meditation group with Rin’dzin Pamo

Meditating with others can help you keep up practice on your own. There will be time this evening to ask about any difficulties you are having with meditation, and to learn from others or to find out more about the Buddhist path.

Our meditation group is informal and relaxed. We agree the length of time that we will sit, according to what would best suit attendees. Usually we sit in silence for a minimum of two periods of 20 minutes. Often there are experienced meditators present.

This evening is taking place in the apartment of one of our regular group members. There's plenty of space, but please let us know if you plan to attend so that we can make sure there are enough cushions and floor mats for everyone.

The style of meditation that we practice is called shi-ne (shamatha), a technique common to many Buddhist paths. You can hear a short introduction here. Help will be given in the group to anyone who is new to the technique or to meditation.
