Class with Mé-tsal Wangmo & Ja'gyür Dorje

aro-ling-shrine

A short 3 week course exploring the five precepts of Buddhism from the perspective of Dzogchen. This understanding of the precepts comes from 'The Song of the Owl Headed Dakini'- a cycle of teachings received in vision by the great female practitioner Aro Lingma (1886 to 1923).

These bring out the radical non-dual nature of the essential Buddhist themes which have been

handed down from the time of Shakyamuni Buddha and the Mahasiddhas.

The five Owl Precepts concern the application of awareness in our daily lives – either as rules or as perceptivity. These precepts are not really concerned with the sphere of relative morality but with the sphere of non-dual awareness and the subtle dimension of all interaction. They provide point instants of awareness that then spread to all aspects of life. They begin with practice; and then move out from formal practice into every aspect of one’s interaction with the world.

The Song of the Owl Headed Dakini is a stirring anthem to freedom and to the sheer glee evoked by direct insight into the nature of reality.

The sessions will be both in person in the room, and online on Zoom.
