Aro Tradition Craft Working
These workshops are intended for people who are interested in making practice mats, meditation straps (gomtags) apprentice shawls and drum tails (chopen) according to the Aro Buddhist tradition.
Workshop with Thrin-lé Chatral
Aro Ling Bristol
UK
In-person only
Two workshops focusing on making meditation straps and Aro style practice mats. There will be demonstrations throughout the day and the possibility to begin making your own. Even the easier items have their difficulties so it is best if you have some experience of sewing. These items can be sewn by hand, by treadle or electric sewing machine.
I will be making these at Aro Ling during the day and will demonstrate how and what I am doing. I will bring some materials with me, or bring your own fabric to cut out and start on your own Mat or meditation straps. The fabrics will be sold at cost, unless you bring your own fabric.
If people are interested we can arrange a follow up meeting to finish items. Also let me know if you would like to make something but cannot make those dates – I will try and arrange another date to suit.
