Aro Lha bSang Gyüd-pa Drüpthab
This is a practice which comes to us both from the Aro gTér of Khyungchen Aro Lingma – and the Ling Gésar gTérma of Rang-rig Togden – otherwise known as Gang’dül Lingpa. Great thanks are due Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen for making this and so many other practices available to us. These gTérmas of Khyungchen Aro Lingma and Gang’dül Lingpa are in the category of ‘Twice Discovered gTérma’ as they were received dag-ngang gTér by Ngak’chang Rinpoche, who in that arena, has the name Zértsal Lingpa. Ngak’chang Rinpoche’s rôle as a gTértön was first publicly revealed in Bhutan during Ngakma Mé-tsal and Naljorpa Ja’gyür’s presentation at the Conference on ‘Tradition and Innovation in Vajrayana’.
The View of this Practice
This practice of offering bSang is a method for raising rLung rTa and enriching the Drala within one’s experience. Let us consider rlung-rta for a moment. rLung rTa literally means ‘wind-horse.’ It carries many different meanings, including the following: the element of space connected dynamically with which the five elements operate, and the subtle winds of the body. In raising lung-ta, one is cultivating the circumstances in which goodness and wholeness can thrive. It is a condition in which any effort is more likely to be experienced as ‘all accomplishing wisdom.’ This is facilitated by openness to the possibilities of reality. One perceives the emptiness quality of the arising elements and is inspired and energized by the liberated qualities of the elements. One’s inspiration enriches and magnetizes the circumstances for everyone and everything everywhere. One’s speech is congruent with the task at hand. One's efforts are seemingly effortless. One finds oneself in a state of relaxed presence.
Ngakpa Seng-ge Dorje will try to cover all aspects of this practice, the theory and practice, in concise fashion so that any attendees can then begin to incorporate it into their own practice.
