Weekend event

aro-ling-shrine

Meditators will sit for 60 hours non-stop from Thursday evening right through the night until Monday morning slap bang in the middle of Gloucester Road, one of Bristol's busiest shopping streets.

The event will take place at the Aro Ling Buddhist Arts & Meditation Centre at 127 Gloucester Rd (next to Co-op and opposite Barclay's Bank). Join the hordes of shoppers watching our awesome relay of meditators practising silent sitting meditation in public view in Aro Ling’s shop window. The event is to raise awareness of the benefits of meditation and to raise money for a new meditation retreat centre.

Practice manager, Métsal Wangmo welcomes anyone interested in meditation ‘As well as celebrating the jubilee, we want people to actually see what’s on offer here. Meditation can take a little determination to benefit from, but is really worth trying. There are lots of ways different people can meditate, and it’s NOT necessarily about sitting cross-legged on the floor without moving for hours! We’ve seen it help people in all kinds of incredible ways.
