Drala Thang (sGar bLa thang) means “space of vital communication” or in Lama Bar-ché Dorje´s words is a shimmering expanse of consciousness that constantly communicates and is open to all who feel connected to it. Drala Thang is a Vajrayana community belonging to the Aro gTér lineage of the Nyingma tradition of Himalayan Buddhism, founded in 2020 by students of the tradition, under the spiritual guidance of Lama Bar-ché Dorje and Lama Mé-sèl Gyalmo, the spiritual leaders of Drala Thang. They are appointed by Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen, the spiritual leaders of the Aro gTér lineage.

Drala Thang’s mission in Finland and elsewhere is to provide an opportunity to understand Vajrayana as a spiritual vehicle that encourages natural courage and natural dignity, artistic appreciation and artistic creativity for the happiness and harmony of all people. At Drala Thang, nurturing religious and secular arts is central. It is an essential part of developing kindness and awareness. The religion of the members of Drala Thang Finland is the practice of kindness and awareness by listening, reflecting and meditating on the Vajrayana teachings of Aro gTér, Thang-tong Thugtig and more broadly the Nyingma tradition.
